As we have been dealing with the Corona Virus since the beginning of March 2020, we have learned much, followed safety measures, and more than likely felt anxious. Also, being quarantined for this length of time, especially if living alone, elevates stress which can take its toll on carepartners and patients with Parkinsons Disease.
Since April 29, 2020 we have been "meeting" via Zoom on the internet where most members can participate. It is now 2022, and the virus continues to control our involvement with others. Because of continued high numbers contracting the disease, we feel it necessary to extend our Zoom meetings rather than meet in person. We have been pleased with the involvement in the Zoom meetings and hope even more will join us.

Mission
Our mission is to educate and support individuals impacted by Parkinson's Disease in the Finger Lakes Region.
We would like to thank the F.F. Thompson Foundation for its continued support of our mission through the Mary Clark Thompson Community Grant Program
Support Groups
Many find that a support group offers the education, hope, and information that makes this journey less difficult and more encouraging.
At support meetings, you might find insights to questions such as:
- What medications are available?
- What might help with daily tasks?
- Does exercise help?
- Are there new research findings?
- How can I help as a care partner?
- What resources are available?
- How can I deal with the symptoms?

Monthly Support Meetings
When:
The group Zoom meetings are on the last Wednesday every month at 1PM except July, December, and sometimes November (depending on the date of Thanksgiving).
Where:
Because we are unable for our large group to meet any where and still be 6 feet apart, even with masks, we can only meet through Zoom, a method of visually and audibly connecting through the internet.
Therefore, please download the free Zoom site before a monthly meeting. You will be sent an e-mail with the Zoom link (code) which when clicked will take you to the program for that month.
What:
Meeting Format
- Announcements
- Speaker on topic relevant to Parkinson's Disease (See Speaker Schedule .) You will be muted during the presentation.
- Discussion. You will be unmuted at this time.
Social Meetings
"Bring Your Own Lunch" Picnic
Where: Outhouse Park, Canandaigua, New York
When: TBA 11am-1pm
What: Bring your place settings, total meal, and drinks.
The CoVid virus will most likely not be totally controlled by August of this year, yet we still wanted to get together in person. Therefore, we will meet for our summer "picnic" in the safest way possible... outdoors, distanced, and masked even if we have had our vaccine shots.
We also thought it best not to be serving food, so hots and hamburgers will NOT be provided NOR should anyone bring a dish-to-pass. Instead, everyone should bring their own complete lunch to decrease the chance of anyone becoming infected with the virus.
Instead of sharing food, we will share conversation.
